Love my new knife!

I finally splurged on one of their Japanese knives and it's fantastic! The sharpness out of the box was incredible. I used it to prep dinner the same day it arrived. I've heard good things about Borough Kitchen from friends and decided to try them myself. It's definitely a step up from my old knife set. I'm already eyeing a few other items, maybe a good cast iron skillet next. Seriously impressed with the quality and I will absolutely be shopping here again for kitchen stuff!

Good value for a first purchase

I was looking for a new stainless steel pan and Borough Kitchen popped up. I signed up for their newsletter and got a decent 10% off my first order, which made the price point much better for a premium brand pan. Shipping was free because the pan was over 75 pounds. It arrived in about four days. Overall, felt like a solid purchase and good value for what I got.

My Borough Kitchen order arrived today, much faster than I expected! Got the copper saucepan set and a new food processor. Packaging was excellent.

That's good to hear about the delivery! How long did it actually take? I'm thinking of ordering a Dutch oven for Diwali and need it by a certain date.

A AnanyaT 2 weeks ago
Mine took exactly 3 days from order to delivery. I'm in Manchester. They ship pretty quickly.

Depends on the stock sometimes. I ordered a specific cast iron skillet once and it took a week because it was coming from a different warehouse.
4
P PriyaG 2 weeks ago
Their delivery times are usually reliable for me too, always within 3-5 working days.
5
S SnehaB 2 weeks ago
Which food processor did you get? Been looking for a good one that's not too bulky but powerful enough for everyday use.

V VikasJ 2 weeks ago
Following. I need a new food processor too.

I got the Magimix Compact 3200 XL. It's fantastic, feels really sturdy and the motor is super quiet.

Oh wow, copper saucepans! They look so beautiful on the website. How do they perform? I've always heard they're amazing for heat distribution.
5
A AnanyaT 2 weeks ago
Just used the small one for a sauce, and it heated up so evenly! Very impressed. A bit heavy but feels super solid.

M MeenaK 2 weeks ago
Are they difficult to clean? I'm always worried about copper tarnishing.

Thinking of picking up a few items during their Winter Sale, but wondering about delivery times. How long does Borough Kitchen usually take to ship to, say, Bangalore?

A ArjunM 4 hours ago ✓ Best Answer
Mine took about 5-6 business days to reach Chennai during their last seasonal sale. Packaging was solid though, no issues.

P Pooja 3 hours ago
Did you get a tracking number right away?

N Neha22 3 hours ago
That's not too bad. Was worried it would be weeks.

R RajeshN 3 hours ago
I ordered a Wusthof knife from them a while back. Took almost 8 days to Delhi, but that was during a big holiday season. So depends on the time of year maybe.

A Amit 2 hours ago
Mine was also slow during Diwali.

N Neha22 2 hours ago
Good point about holiday season. Winter sale might be busy.

Thinking of buying a high-end stand mixer, but it's a big purchase. What's their return policy like if I change my mind?

B Ben T. 1 month ago
Yeah, returns were easy, did it last month for a pan that wasn't quite right. Just had to send it back within the window, no fuss.

S Shane Bennett 1 month ago
I'm pretty sure you get 30 days. Just make sure it's unused and in its original packaging. Check their site though, I might be slightly off on the exact number of days.

Just got a newsletter pop-up for 10% off my first order at Borough Kitchen. Anyone know if this actually works well or if there are better codes floating around?

R Rohan87 3 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
Yeah, the newsletter one usually works fine. I used it a few months ago for a new knife. Just make sure you're a new customer.

A Anjali 3 weeks ago
Does it stack with anything else? Like free shipping?

P PriyaS 3 weeks ago
Thanks! Was eyeing a new cast iron skillet, so 10% would be decent.

I tried it last week and it didn't apply to my cooking class booking. Ended up just paying full price for that.
4
R Rohan87 3 weeks ago
Oh, good to know. I think discounts for classes are usually separate.
5
S Sunita 3 weeks ago
Yeah, cooking class discounts are pretty rare, usually tied to specific promotions.

Following this, might need a new stand mixer soon.

Are the products here actually legit professional grade? Or is it more for home cooks who just want good stuff?

L Laura A. 1 month ago
Oh yeah, they're legit. My chef friend swears by their knife selection, says it's top notch stuff even for his professional kitchen.

W Wendy G. 1 month ago
Definitely pro-grade. I've seen some of the same brands in actual restaurant kitchens. But they also have plenty for serious home cooks too.

Finally decided to upgrade my old knife set and bought a couple of Japanese knives from Borough Kitchen. The Santoku is amazing, feels so balanced. Still getting used to the sharpness though!

A AmitM 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
That's great! Be super careful with those, Japanese knives are seriously sharp. Did you get a whetstone from them too? They have some good quality ones.
5
P PriyaS 1 month ago
Yes, I got a basic combination whetstone. Still need to practice using it though. Any tips for a beginner?

Watch their online tutorials! Borough Kitchen has some really clear videos on knife sharpening. Made a huge difference for me.

Or even better, their knife sharpening service is fantastic if you're in London. Worth it for the first few times until you get the hang of it.

I was thinking of buying a couple of their knives too. Did you manage to find a discount code? I signed up for the newsletter but didn't get one immediately.
5
P PriyaS 1 month ago
I got a first order discount code in my email a few hours after signing up. Maybe check your spam?
4
V VarunS 1 month ago
Sometimes it takes a day or so. Also, they often have seasonal sales that are better than the first order discount.
2
N Nikhil87 1 month ago
Oh nice! I've been eyeing their Japanese knives for ages. Which Santoku did you go for? I'm torn between a few models.

I got the Tojiro DP. It was a bit of a splurge but totally worth it so far. Cuts through everything like butter.
4
R RoshniK 1 month ago
Heard good things about Tojiro. Is it difficult to maintain? I'm worried about sharpening.

Does anyone know if that 'first order discount' works on sale items? Trying to snag a deal on a dutch oven that's already marked down.

M Megan Nguyen 1 month ago
I tried that a while back, it didn't work. Most of those intro codes usually exclude stuff that's already on sale or discounted.
6
P Priya F. 1 month ago
Nah, pretty sure you can't double-dip. The fine print usually says it excludes sale items. Bummer, I know.

Hey, I'm looking at getting one of those fancy Japanese knives from here. How long does shipping usually take to, say, Boston?

R Rosa Doyle 1 month ago
I ordered a skillet last month to NYC, took about a week and a half I think. Might be similar for Boston.
4
C Chris 1 month ago
They ship from the UK so it's not super fast. Plan for at least a week, probably more like 10 days to the US, afaik.
